The tree had become very overpowering in the rear garden of this house in Canterbury so tree surgery was needed to reduce the overall size of the tree. The tree was climbed and on the ground we spent alot of time making sure the shape of the tree was nice by communcating with the climber. In the end the result was very pleasing.

The old dead Oak Tree was in Pett Bottom near Canterbury. Instead of felling the dead oak tree to ground level the client wanted to have it stripped to a pole to create a haven for wildlife. For the bird life we left a number of stubbs creating perches.

If you have the room and the tree is still sound what better way to help the wildlife and also having a sculptural thing in your garden.

Felling a dead Elm Tree

It was quite a large tree situated next to a garage, so care had to be taken not to damage anything. Luckily our client had called us in before the dead Elm tree had got too dangerous. This being the case we could climb the Elm tree and take it down in managable pieces. If it had been left longer other methods would of had to used. This would of involved using a mobile working platform or usually known as a cherry picker. This would have been more expensive.

So if you have a dead tree make sure you don’t leave it too long and call your local Kent tree surgeon 01304 614 652.

The site was left clean and tidy with the garage undamaged. The timber was taken away and processed into logs for the winter season to come.

We had a company day out today to the Arb Fair on the Bathhurst Estate near Cirecester.

We go every year to hear and look at new products to make our job more efficent and safer. It’s a good way to catch up with old friends in the trade and chat about your latest awkard or dangerous tree you’ve done.or about the new bits of kit on the market. We saw new techniques and came away inspired and ready for work on Monday.

In the future this can be maintained at intervals to keep the trees at a reasonable size for the garden.

Today we felled a Silver Birch tree in Ashford because unfortunatley the roots had started to lift the surrounding patio and lean onto a garden shed. The tree had to be climbed and dismantled by hand in order to avoid damaging the shed and nearby fences

After this we went onto another job in Ashford. Here we felled a Norway Spruce which had outgrown it’s location next to a pond.

Both were good straight forward jobs and the clients were happy with how the work was done and how we had left the site clean and tidy
